We stayed in a "Tamar suite" which us essentially, a few small wooden huts strung together, but with heating and plumbing, and with a brilliant breakfast thrown in as well! Honestly, we were only there for a wedding, and this was everything we needed, it wasn't exactly spotless, as they had left the bathroom window open, and so there were dead flys, bug droppings etc, but nothing that a quick wipe didn't fix, and it was perfect for a quick stay. Sadly, we didn't get to explore much, but the beach and surrounding countryside looked amazing, plus the breakfast..... ooooh, the breakfast!! It was amazing, would go back just for the brekkie, and the restaurant was really great for dinner as well.
All in all, highly recommend, great place, thank you!

I have nothing but glowing reviews for Whitsand Bay Fort. I am a backpacker with very little money so I can't say much about the rooms. For £10/night, tent camping here is glorious. Wonderful restaurant (that accepts cash), quality showers (included), access to a pool (included), and laundry (wash and dry, takes coins), this place is the life. The staff are accommodating and help the community out.
For a few weeks, I was at a nearby campsite that didn't have a shower. Whitsand Bay Fort allowed me to shower and do my laundry on their site while I was on the other side of town. I was blown away and appreciated this so much. Once the other site closed for the year, I went to Whitsand Bay Fort.
Location is nearby Millbrook where there are shops and the Fort is near great places to walk around.
10/10. No complaints.
~ Hello I
Stayed here for 2 nights. Pitches are clean, wide, where we stayed you could empty your septic toilet on the spot as each pitch has got one of them. There is an indoor pool, water was warm. There is no local shop on site, but there are gym, laundrette, bar /restaurant. The venue is very beautiful, the staff is super friendly the menu is rich and food is tasty! Worth the money! There is bingo every two weeks, and live music was superb! There is a bus stop and a short walk to the beach but it's very steep hill down and wouldn't recommend to do it if you have toddlers.
Very quiet and and somewhat boring but it is a great place and would highly recommend! Hence 5 stars!
You deserve it guys and thank you for making our stay pleasant!

For a one or two night stay , this is perfect!
We stayed in the Tamar lodges
One double bed, walk in wardrobe area, bathroom, tv, tea & coffee provided as were towels & shower gel & a hairdryer
Bed was incredibly comfy, views were stunning!
Lovely balcony with chairs
Reception staff lovely & allowed us to leave our car in the car park after check out so we could meet our family down at the Cliff Top Café
A short walk from our lodge revealed old gun batteries and a breathtaking view over Whitsand Bay
Literally a minute down the road on site was The Fort Inn
Lovely food, great atmosphere & friendly staff
An absolute bargain of a place to stay
Highly recommended!

Sat in my van admiring the view the site might be seemingly far to get to but it's worth it. Nice sheltered pitches, plenty of walks to see the sea. Peaceful. Restaurant on site I have put another review on. Facilities clean. Cost £20 for the night seemed at first more than I wanted to pay but it is a nice site.
December 2017 now our third visit and the site remains the same but could do with some ventilation in the toilet/shower block. They have now designated the cubicles male or female. One thing to point out is if there is a wedding onsite it will effect the experience of staying there. We thought we could eat in the restaurant, which we could but on a restricted menu. Also with all the wedding guests there you felt like we were intruding. I would not let it put you off but it would be nice if it was made clear at time of booking that a wedding was on.

This campsite is situated high up on a beautiful spot in an old Napoleonic fort, hence the name. It commands wonderful views around Whitsand Bay, from Rame head to Dodman point. On the other side of the site there views are over Plymouth, the Tamar valley, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Because of it's position when it's windy, it's windy.
The facilities are excellent, good clean toilet block, although limited, restaurant, bar, cafe and a wonderful indoor heated pool.
The touring pitches are grass and hard standing all well served.
There are also lodges available to rent.
One warning, watch out for the car park, let out to an unforgiving parking company.

Stayed for 2 nights when I was attending a Royal Navy passing out ceremony. The location was ideal as only a 10 minute drive from Raleigh and more importantly a stunning location! A short walk across the road and the coastline is stunning. Stayed in a Tamar room that was absolutely spotless and furnished beautifully. Tea and coffee facilities, drinking water, biscuits and wine glasses. Staff were amazing. I was late checking in due to bad weather travelling down and the young chap in the bar was very helpful and had my key and provided all details. Had a lovely chat with the cleaner and gardener-incredibly nice staff and delicious food..5 stars well deserved by you all! Thank you!

Haven't stayed here but have been for food plenty of times recently. It has quickly become a favourite for family meals. The carvery gp a big hit with everyone and gp super tasty when compared to some similar local offerings. Sometimes when catering for large numbers the food can be a bit hum drum. That is definitely not the case here. It is always super fresh and tasty, whatever choices they put on.
The staff too, are lovely and friendly. A lot of younger people, which is great to see them giving good customer service. They seem like they enjoy where they work.
My Nan being the main fan of a carvery will often suggest we go. When I take her, she uses a walker. The staff have offered to help us get her carvery from the counter and help us get pat down on a few occasions now. It's these little things that make you want to go back to places.

We have brought our caravan here for the weekend & we are loving our stay. The view is incredible across Dartmoor and beyond. (The other side will be your sea views, but we are happy with these views).
A top tip would be to choose the meadows area for your pitch - Number 7 is a good choice. Pitches are a good size. Excuse our green caravan in the photo - it’s our first trip of the season.
Albert on the bar last night was very accommodating and welcoming, so thank you. Bar prices seem OK. The arcade area new for 2026 is superb, all games are only £1 and our 2 year old loves it!
We cannot wait for the entertainment this evening!

The location is stunning, atop the cliffs overlooking Whitsand Bay. The Victoria Fort is one of several in the area and has been used as a site for campervans, motorhomes and holiday lodge site. There is extensive refurbishment and modernisation going on which means that some of the facilities aren't available, like the indoor swimming pool but there is a good cafe and also restaurant on site. There are modest shower and toilet facilities for campers and perhaps the Motorhome Service Point is due an upgrade. There's a good buzz about the place and the views all around are simply stunning. Recommended.

+ You can not get a better location! Stunning sea views, for those that likes a city view's you can see all of Plymouth from the other side of the park. it's got a bar, Food, swimming pool, laundrette. Fully serviced pitches, it's close to one of the best beaches I've ever been to.
If I had to make a criticism, it would be the WC/Showers there's only 2 showers for the whole park and they could with a update but still clean & functional.
I will definitely come again.

We recently stayed in lodge 28 and we were very happy with our stay. The views were stunning, the park has undergone a facelift and the pool is immaculate (you must pre book and pay a fee). There’s a cafe with a small shop inside, restaurant and entertainment venue.
There was an Elvis impersonator on the Saturday evening and he was one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s a short walk to the beach but be mindful that there are lots of steps.
Highly recommended for families and pet friendly too.

Fantastic long weekend. We stayed in Lodge 12. spectacular views. Listening to owls hoot at night.
Fantastic food, fab staff, all work really hard to made us feel special.
Pool was worth the wait. ( we originally booked 2018).
Brilliant walks, we look forward to returning.
Camping /caravans /etc all excellent.
Elvis act was funny. Cider was cold . Food hot. Beach awesome. We hired paddle boards . Sun sets were out of this world.
Good job team !

We stayed in a fully serviced motorhome pitch .from the start we where greeted at reception by Lyn with a welcome pack .we were led to our pitch by a very helpful man in a golf buggy ,who explained everything on the pitch and explained the quick way to walk back to pool and restaurant and wished us a good stay before he left us
The public areas including pool ,changing rooms and toilets where spotlessly clean
Every member of staff that we saw greeted us with a genuine interest in us and a smile
We ate in the bar/restaurant that had live music playing
The food was so good . Way above expectations ,my wife had belly pork which was the best she has tasted .I had a well cooked ,well presented high class burger with freshly cooked hot seasoned chips and a lovely little pan of slaw .
Other people who we ate with had the best brisket chilli with all the trimmings
The prices where very reasonable for the quality of food and service (wish we could have stayed for their famous Sunday Roast)
We have booked again for next month even though it’s a 3.5 hour drive we know it will be well worth it

We eat, swim and camp here. Really good portions of well cooked grub at the bar. Chef does a bloomin good job for sure! Really friendly staff, nice cafe that also serves some awesome and adventurous dishes. Kids love the place, little games room and outdoor ping pong in a breeze is a blast. Washroom facilities are neat and clean, adequate for numbers of pitches, as long as theirs not too many tents. Good laundry and dish washing room. Love it

Arrived with out a booking looking to camp and take shelter from the bad weather, went to reception and was greeted with a smile. Was found a great pitch at a good price and told all about the facilities and where everything was located. When I pitched up the weather was misty but in the morning it was a lot brighter and the views are amazing form this site. There is a pool and bar and cafe lots on offer a hidden gem of a place to visit.

Beautiful little site, lovely pool majority of staff very friendly and helpful showers and toilet block spotless but could do with more showers, pub beautifully furnished, but on our last eve we went to the restaurant to have food and we were turned away apparently they only had 2 chefs on shift and they couldn't keep up with the orders very disappointing end to our holiday, we ended up going into millbrook to find a fish and chip shop
~ Jill B
Always camped at maker heights before and this site I prefer. I didnt realize they did camping here. Campers are at the top away from everyone else, but near the facilities. Views amazing. Calm and peaceful. Sat in the bar all evening as it was pitch dark ( mid October camping) Had great meal and lovely breakfast. They are open all year and I will definitely return to camp during the autumn and spring.

Sehr gepflegte Anlage mit Schwimmhalle und kostenfreiem WiFi in der Lounge
Sanitäranlagen sehr sauber und ein wirklich gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Great little spot for families to enjoy the seaside, stayed in our own caravan on a pitch so couldn't comment on the rooms.
Fab staff and facilties, lovely and clean toilet/shower area.
The swimming pool is fab! Had some trouble with getting into the place as had to go to reception for a ticket but after that the kids thoroughly enjoyed !
10/10 we will be back again :)
~ Bridget N
Shame I didn't arrive any earlier but they have a pub with events on Friday and Saturday nights, cafe for the breakfast. Staff are all the friendliest people I have ever met, facilities are very well maintained with even a warm covered pool for family. I went with my campervan there for a night and it was so worth it. Across my Cornwall journey this was the best campsite I have stayed for sure.

We stayed for a week in the radar station, what a beautiful historic place. The views from the cottage are outstanding and although quite busy there's a peaceful atmosphere about the site which is calming. The balcony is perfect for dining, using the hot tub or just enjoying the stunning sunsets. All home comforts indoors, excellent for 5 adults. The south west coastal path is on the doorstep and the beach outside the fort is sandy and has lifeguards on duty, although the steep path and steps need good fitness, but the easily accessible, Cawsand, Kingsand and Portwrinkle beaches are 10 min drive or short bus ride away, the bus stops right outside and is a great service for days out. The restaurant and bar are welcoming with a great menu and huge portions, for any time of day. All the staff are very friendly, professional and nothing is too much trouble, really making our stay perfect. There's an onsite laundry if needed and peeking at the camping facilities all looks clean and modern. Unfortunately the pool was closed for repair, (thank goodness we had a week of sun!) but it looked very inviting and I'm sure we'll be back to try it.

The grounds are well looked after with a bar, restaurant, cafe/shop your more than catered for. As well as an indoor swimming pool for those colder days. Not to mention being perched on top of the hill between Whitsand Bay and Millbrook you get the most amazing views of the sea and the countryside, looking over to Plymouth and as far as the moors.
